Harvey Gowers
KPMG in the Cayman Islands has promoted two senior audit professionals, Harvey Gowers and Sean Cowan, to partner, the firm announced, citing their contributions to the growth of its audit practice and regional operations.
The promotions come as the firm continues to expand its presence in the Cayman Islands and across its network, with a focus on strengthening audit services and developing local and regional talent, according to the company.
Gowers began his career with KPMG in the United Kingdom before relocating to the Cayman Islands, where he has worked in the insurance practice. The firm said he has played a key role in expanding its reinsurance business and is active in industry events. He was named to Captive International’s “Forty Under 40” list in 2025.

Cowan brings more than 20 years of audit experience, having started his career in Canada and joined the Cayman Islands office in 2011. KPMG said he has focused on improving audit delivery and mentoring staff, contributing to the development of emerging leaders within the firm and its offshore teams.
Wanda Mellaneo, country leader of KPMG LLP in the Cayman Islands, said the promotions reflect the pair’s contributions to clients and colleagues, adding that their leadership aligns with the firm’s growth strategy.
KPMG Islands Group, of which the Cayman firm is a part, employs more than 3,000 professionals across multiple Caribbean and offshore jurisdictions, providing audit, tax and advisory services.
