Maples Group signs deal for new headquarters at Camana Bay

The Maples Group has signed a long-term agreement to establish a new Cayman Islands headquarters at 90 Nexus Way in Camana Bay, a move the company says will bring most of its local operations together in a single location for the first time in more than 20 years.

The purpose-built headquarters is expected to house the majority of the firm’s Cayman-based teams and support its “One Group” strategy, which aims to improve coordination across its legal, fiduciary and fund services businesses. The company said the consolidation is intended to strengthen collaboration among employees and streamline service delivery to clients.

According to the Maples Group, the new headquarters will occupy more than 70% of the space at 90 Nexus Way, making it one of the largest commercial real estate transactions in the Cayman Islands.

Michael Richardson, managing partner of Maples and Calder in the Cayman Islands, said the project reflects the firm’s long-term commitment to its operations in the territory and to providing a workplace designed for future growth.

The company said the facility will include technology upgrades, flexible workspaces, executive boardrooms, team areas, quiet rooms, cafés and client meeting spaces. Guy Major, co-chief executive officer of the Maples Group, said the design is intended to encourage collaboration and flexibility in day-to-day work.

The development is part of the broader Camana Bay community and will incorporate sustainability measures, including energy-efficient systems, renewable energy generation and design standards aligned with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) principles, the company said.

Dart, the developer behind Camana Bay, described the agreement as a significant milestone for the community. Mark VanDevelde, executive director and CEO of Dart, said the partnership reflects both organisations’ long-term investment in the Cayman Islands and its financial services sector.

Construction and fit-out work at 90 Nexus Way is scheduled to continue through 2026 and 2027. The Maples Group expects to move into the new headquarters in fall 2027, coinciding with the company’s 60th anniversary.
