The network of PwC firms operating in the Caribbean has appointed David Gibbons as its next chief executive officer, effective July 1, succeeding longtime regional CEO Frazer Lindsay, who is retiring after 36 years with the firm.
Lindsay, a partner with PwC Cayman Islands, has led the regional network since 2016 and will step down at the end of his term on June 30. The firm said Gibbons will oversee PwC operations across several Caribbean jurisdictions, including the Cayman Islands, Barbados, Bermuda and Jamaica.
Gibbons, who was born and raised in Barbados, has worked with PwC in Bermuda for more than two decades and has served on the region’s core leadership team for the past seven years as human capital leader. He also spent five years as assurance leader for PwC Bermuda.
“David is the right leader for this moment,” Lindsay said in a statement. “He brings a sharp vision and a deep understanding of our markets and clients.”
Gibbons said the region’s professional services industry is facing rapid change driven by economic uncertainty, geopolitical tensions and artificial intelligence. He said the regional network would continue focusing on technology, client support and growth opportunities.
Graeme Sunley, territory leader for PwC Cayman Islands, credited Lindsay with leading a decade of growth and said Gibbons would continue emphasizing quality, people and long-term development across the Caribbean network.
The network of PwC firms operating in the Caribbean includes offices in The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, and Trinidad and Tobago.
