Help For Children (HFC) will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Cayman Islands gala on Friday, Nov 14, at the Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, with proceeds supporting local programmes that prevent and treat child abuse, the nonprofit said.

The event will feature a three-course dinner and a keynote by Dean Backer, HFC’s global board president. Funds raised will benefit 2025 grantees including the Alex Panton Foundation, Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, Cayman Islands Early Childhood Association, Cayman Islands Health Services Authority, Cayman Islands Red Cross, CAYS Foundation, Department of Children & Family Services, NCVO, one2one and the YMCA of the Cayman Islands.

Baron Jacob, chair of HFC Cayman’s Committee of Hearts, said the platinum-anniversary gala aims to be “fun, memorable, and inspiring, while raising funds for critical charities that protect and heal children.” Esteemed auctioneer Vicki Wheaton will lead live and silent auctions featuring items such as a new Audi from Car City, jewellery from Kirk Freeport, premium wines and travel packages, organisers said.

HFC said it was founded in New York in 1998 and has awarded more than US$62 million in grants globally. Since 2006, the Cayman affiliate has granted over CI$4.16 million to local charities, reaching nearly 28,000 children, the organisation said. Ticket pricing and a fundraising target were not disclosed.
