Public Notice: Cayman Finance warns about Facebook scam

Cayman Finance has been made aware of a fraudulent investment scheme in which individuals are being targeted online or contacted directly by telephone and offered an investment opportunity using the name, identity or reputation of Cayman Finance.

Cayman Finance has no affiliation, connection or relationship with these individuals or any investment offer they are promoting, and has not authorised the use of its name, logo or other materials in connection with any investment solicitation.

Cayman Finance does not offer investment products, solicit investments, or make unsolicited investment calls to members of the public. Anyone claiming to represent Cayman Finance in offering or promoting an investment opportunity should be treated with caution and independently verified through Cayman Finance’s official channels.

Fraudulent investment schemes may use the names, logos and reputations of legitimate organisations to appear credible. Scammers may contact individuals by telephone, email, social media or through fraudulent websites and seek to persuade them to transfer money or disclose personal and financial information.

How to Protect Yourself:

  • Be suspicious of unsolicited calls offering investment opportunities, particularly where the caller claims to represent Cayman Finance or another trusted organisation.
  • Cayman Finance will never call members of the public to solicit investments or request the transfer of funds.
  • Do not provide personal, banking or financial information to an unsolicited caller.
  • Do not transfer money based on an unsolicited investment offer.
  • Do not rely on a caller ID, website, email address or other information provided by the caller to verify their identity. Contact the organisation directly using independently sourced contact details.
  • Only trust information published through Cayman Finance’s official website: caymanfinance.ky
  • If an investment opportunity claims to involve a Cayman Islands-regulated entity, verify the entity through the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority’s official search of regulated entities.
  • If you believe you have been targeted by or have engaged with a fraudulent investment scheme, report the matter to the appropriate authorities, including the Cayman Islands Financial Reporting Authority at financialreportingauthority@gov.ky.

Stay vigilant and verify investment opportunities through official sources before taking any action. If you receive an unsolicited call claiming to represent Cayman Finance and offering an investment opportunity, do not provide any information or transfer any funds.
