The Cayman Islands-based law firm Appleby has welcomed 23 students and recent graduates to its 2026 Summer Internship Programme, offering participants practical legal experience and professional development during the school and university vacation period.

The programme brings together students from Cayman high schools, the Cayman Finance programme, and Caymanian students studying at universities locally and overseas. According to the firm, the internship is designed to give participants firsthand exposure to legal practice while helping them develop workplace and professional skills.

This year’s cohort includes Arianna Atkinson, Shreeya Bhuyan, Gabrielle Caum, Ikenna Eleweanya, Isabelle Forget, Rhiann Jackson, Matthew Lloyd-Hickey, Elias Drobac, Autumn Doyle, Brynne Lund, Victoria Bouck, Shaan Vats, Anthony Chin Jr., Olivia Sanderson, Jayden McLaughlin, Ava Degrand, Brandon Ruiz, Stella Seymour, Quinn Small, Erik Sorensen, Daniella Whiteman, Taygan McFarlane and Isiah Allen.

Internships typically last between two and four weeks. Participants work alongside lawyers and business services teams, taking part in legal research, drafting, document review and due diligence while contributing to client matters under supervision. The firm said interns also receive mentoring, structured feedback and opportunities to build professional networks.

Appleby said the programme is part of its broader effort to identify and develop future legal talent in the Cayman Islands. The firm said demand for placements exceeds the number of available positions each year, with applicants evaluated on academic performance, communication skills, initiative and interest in law and professional services.

“Our Summer Internship Programme remains a key part of Appleby’s commitment to developing future legal talent here in the Cayman Islands,” Managing Partner Simon Raftopoulos said. He said the firm looks forward to supporting this year’s interns and following their future careers.
