International law firm Walkers has welcomed two members to the Finance team following their admission to the Cayman Islands Bar.
Emily Boyd and Lacee Riley joined the firm’s Finance practice after completing Walkers’ Articles of Clerkship programme, which is designed to equip aspiring legal professionals with the technical knowledge and practical experience needed to build their careers.
Peter Kendall, a partner and chair of Walkers’ Cayman Islands Trainee Committee, said Boyd and Riley demonstrated dedication and professionalism throughout their training.
“We are very proud to see them admitted to the Cayman Islands Bar and look forward to their continued growth and contributions to the firm,” Kendall said.
Boyd, a recipient of the Walkers Legal Scholarship in 2020, earned her law degree from the University of Leicester and completed a year of study at the University of Oslo. She later completed the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law.
“Completing my articles at Walkers has been a fantastic experience, and I’m pleased to continue my career with the firm,” Boyd said.
Riley received the Walkers Legal Scholarship in 2022. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Law through the University of Law and later completed the Professional Practice Course at the Truman Bodden Law School, administered by Oxford Brookes University.
Riley said, “I’m grateful for the support I received throughout the programme and excited to begin this next chapter with the team.”
The firm added the Cayman Legal Training programme remains a key part of its efforts to develop legal talent in the Cayman Islands and provide a pathway from trainee to qualified attorney.
