Help For Children Cayman Islands will hold a fundraising gala Nov. 14 at The Ritz-Carlton, with live and silent auctions supporting local programmes to prevent child abuse and help children affected by it, organisers said.
The event, titled “An Evening in the Ton,” begins at 6 p.m. Organizers expect 300 guests at the “Bridgerton”-inspired evening, with Vicki Wheaton serving as emcee.
The foundation listed this year’s grant recipients as the Cayman Islands Red Cross, One2One, NCVO, CAYS Foundation, Cayman Islands Health Services Authority, Cayman Islands Crisis Centre, Alex Panton Foundation and YMCA.
Planned auction lots include a Franck Muller Swiss watchmaking experience and “Bridgerton” memorabilia. Jewellery from Island Jewellers and dining experiences are also anticipated, with further items to be announced before the gala.
“An auction bid can help fund work that matters long after the evening ends,” said Baron Jacobs, chair of HFC Cayman’s Committee of Hearts.
Help For Children is a global foundation focused on preventing and treating child abuse. Its Cayman Islands affiliate, established in 2005, says it has awarded more than CI$4.8 million in grants to local organizations, reaching more than 30,000 people.
