The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman raised US$35,000 for its Educational Scholarship Fund at its annual gala, with the money going toward higher education opportunities for Caymanian students.
The association’s 2026 Black-Tie Gala & Scholarship Fundraiser was held on 12 Sept. at the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa. IMAC said the proceeds will support local students pursuing higher education overseas.
The Educational Scholarship Fund has awarded more than US$5 million in scholarships to more than 90 Caymanian students since it was established in 1994.
“The continued generosity of our industry and wider community is what makes initiatives like the IMAC Educational Scholarship Fund possible,” IMAC Chair James Trundle said. “We are grateful to everyone who contributed to this year’s Gala.”
Former IMAC scholarship recipient Vanessa Burke delivered the featured address at the event, discussing her educational and professional journey and the role the scholarship fund played in her development.
RSM Cayman returned as title sponsor of the gala and has renewed its sponsorship commitment for another three years, IMAC said.
“Supporting the Educational Scholarship Fund is an investment in Cayman’s future, helping young people pursue their goals, unlock their potential, and contribute meaningfully to our community,” RSM partner Richard Wainwright said.
Artex Risk Solutions, Campbells and Honigman LLP also sponsored the event.
