Walkers has entered a new multi-year sponsorship agreement with St Ignatius Catholic School to support its A Level Law Course and students considering careers in the legal profession.
The international legal and professional services firm said the sponsorship is intended to give students greater exposure to legal education and professionals in the Cayman Islands.
The A Level Law Course introduces students to legal studies and provides opportunities for them to engage with members of the local legal community.
To mark the start of the academic year, students attended a networking event with Walkers employees, representatives from the Truman Bodden Law School and alumni of the St Ignatius programme. Students were able to discuss careers in law and learn about educational pathways into the profession.
Erin Panton, who was recently promoted to partner at Walkers, spoke at the event about her career and encouraged students to take advantage of opportunities available through the programme.
“We are proud to continue our long-standing support of the St Ignatius A Level Law Course,” Walkers Learning and Development Manager Layla Eden said. “Investing in educational initiatives such as this helps create meaningful opportunities for Caymanian students to learn about the legal profession, develop valuable skills and build connections with legal professionals across the Cayman Islands.”
