Maples Group acted as Cayman Islands legal counsel to online fashion retailer SHEIN Global Holdings Ltd. in its approximately HK$13.6 billion (US$1.6 billion) initial public offering and listing in Hong Kong.

The company listed on the Main Board of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong. Maples Group said the transaction was the largest cross-border e-commerce IPO in Hong Kong so far in 2026. SHEIN operates an online fashion and lifestyle retail business serving customers in more than 150 markets.

Maples & Calder’s legal team was led by Matt Roberts, Asia head of corporate, partner Karen Zhang Pallaras and of counsel Kelvan Cheung, working from the firm’s Hong Kong office.

Maples Fund Services also served as the Cayman Islands share registrar for the offering. Its team included Eastern Fong, regional head of fund services for Asia, and Senior Vice President Christy Poon.

Roberts said the listing was an important milestone for SHEIN and reflected the continued appeal of Hong Kong’s capital markets to internationally focused businesses.
