International professional services firm Mourant is welcoming 14 Caymanian students to its Camana Bay office this summer as part of its annual Summer Student Internship Programme, which provides paid workplace experience for students who have completed at least Year 10 of high school.
The programme is split into two sessions, with eight students joining the firm’s legal practice from July 13 to 31 and six students taking part in the Governance Services internship from Aug. 3 to 21. The initiative is designed to give students practical exposure to careers in professional services while working alongside experienced staff.
Students in the legal internship will work with the firm’s lawyers, while those in Governance Services will gain experience in corporate services and governance operations. All internship positions are paid, the company said.
Hayden Isbister, Mourant’s Cayman Islands managing partner, said the programme reflects the firm’s commitment to supporting early career development and helping students gain firsthand professional experience in a collaborative environment.
Mourant said the summer internship is one of several early-career initiatives it offers in the Cayman Islands. The firm also operates the annual Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship and the Cayman Islands Articled Clerk Scheme, with applications for both programmes scheduled to reopen in December 2026.
