KPMG promotes Joshua Bain to audit director

Joshua Bain

KPMG in the Cayman Islands has promoted Joshua Bain to director in its audit practice, recognising his work in client service, staff development and local recruitment initiatives, the firm announced Thursday.

Bain joined the firm in 2013 as a scholarship recipient and returned full time in 2016 after completing his studies. Since then, he has advanced through KPMG’s audit division and completed a secondment with the firm’s US practice in San Francisco.

The promotion also reflects Bain’s involvement in programmes aimed at developing Cayman’s accounting profession, including scholarship, internship and graduate recruitment efforts. KPMG said he has mentored young professionals pursuing accounting qualifications and leadership roles within the industry.

“Josh consistently leads with integrity and demonstrates KPMG’s values and One Firm mindset,” Edward Gwekwete, a partner at KPMG, said in a statement. “His dedication to quality, people leadership and the profession more broadly makes him a natural fit for the Director role.”

Bain was named the 2025 CIIPA Rising Star, an award recognising emerging leadership within the accounting profession in the Cayman Islands.

KPMG LLP operates in the Cayman Islands as part of a regional network serving several Caribbean jurisdictions. The firm employs more than 650 professionals and 40 partners across its Cayman, Bahamas and British Virgin Islands operations.
