Ogier appoints regulatory specialist Alastair Lagrange as Cayman partner

Law firm Ogier has appointed regulatory specialist Alastair Lagrange as a partner in its Cayman Islands office, expanding its capabilities in fintech, virtual assets and regulatory compliance.

The firm said the appointment strengthens its ability to advise clients on complex regulatory and compliance matters in the jurisdiction, particularly as demand grows in areas such as digital assets and cross-border financial services.

Lagrange advises on licensing, registration and regulatory filings with Cayman authorities, as well as corporate governance and compliance with regimes including anti-money laundering rules, economic substance requirements and data protection, according to the firm. He also works on the structuring and operation of foundation companies, virtual asset service providers and fintech businesses.

His appointment follows a series of partner hires in Ogier’s Cayman investment funds team in 2025, as the firm continues to expand its presence in the local legal market.

“I am delighted to join the Ogier partnership,” Lagrange said, adding that he expects to support clients navigating an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Joanne Huckle, Ogier’s global head of investment funds, said Lagrange brings experience in regulatory, fintech and transactional matters that will enhance the firm’s offering in Cayman.
