Mourant announces range of opportunities for Cayman students and graduates

Professional services firm Mourant is seeking local students and graduates with a global outlook and a dedication to academic and professional excellence.

Mourant, whose Cayman office is located in Camana Bay, has now opened applications to three popular student schemes: the Summer Student Internship Programme, the Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship and the Articled Clerk Scheme.

Applications for all three programmes can be made via the firm’s website, with the application window closing in April 2026.

Summer Student Internship Programme

This paid internship programme offers a unique opportunity for Caymanian students to gain professional experience in law, governance services or business services within Mourant.

The legal internship provides the chance to work alongside lawyers in the firm’s Litigation, Investment Funds or Finance teams; the business services internship provides experience in HR, business development and marketing, IT, finance, compliance and facilities; with the governance services internship offering insight into registered office, fiduciary, anti-money laundering, and tax and reporting services.

The internships span three to four weeks, and students are offered comprehensive training, personal mentorship, expert guidance, and valuable career advice during this period.

Eligible students must have completed at least Year 10 of High School and be Caymanian or possess Caymanian Status.

Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship

In memory of Chantal Whittaker, a beloved colleague, mentor and community champion, Mourant set up the Chantal Whittaker Memorial Scholarship to provide support to Caymanian students interested in pursuing a legal career.

The scholarship includes yearly financial aid to cover tuition, books and a living allowance for up to four years, the opportunity of paid work experience during the summer and a personal mentor. There is also the chance to secure a training contract with Mourant post-studies.

Eligible candidates must be Caymanian students who are qualified and accepted into an accredited institution to pursue a career in law.

Articled Clerk Scheme

The Articled Clerk Scheme is open to legal graduates who have, or are about to complete, the Solicitors Qualifying Examination (SQE) or the Professional Practice Course (PPC).

Mourant is seeking candidates who have achieved a minimum upper second class LLB degree, and a Commendation at the Professional Practice Course (PPC).

The firm offers competitive salaries in addition to comprehensive training across all practice areas, online resources, a personal mentor, and ongoing support and guidance. Successful completion of the Articled Clerk Scheme may also lead to a future career with Mourant.
