Walkers, the international legal and professional services firm, has strengthened its global reporting services offering with the arrival of Louise Somers at Walkers Professional Services (WPS).
Based in its Cayman Islands office, Somers will collaborate with global teams to further develop the firm’s reporting services, including automatic exchange of information (AEOI), fund annual returns (FAR), books of account, beneficial ownership and economic substance filings, Walkers said in a press release.
Bringing almost 20 years of experience tax, regulatory and financial services leadership, Louise has worked in firms across the Cayman Islands and Ireland. She most recently served as head of tax reporting and client AML services at another leading services provider, having previously acted as head of compliance with the Cayman Islands Government’s Department for International Tax Cooperation.
Somers is also qualified through the Institute of Chartered Accountants Ireland and Irish Tax Institute.
Steven Manning, chief executive officer of WPS, said: “Louise brings a wealth of expertise and leadership that will be pivotal in advancing our global reporting services. Her appointment underscores our commitment to investing in exceptional talent and continually enhancing our capabilities in key compliance areas,” he added.
“I am grateful for the warm welcome I have received from my new colleagues since joining Walkers,” Somers said. “I look forward to working with this exceptional team as we continue to deliver outstanding support to our clients and guide them through an evolving regulatory environment.”
