GirlForce 100 recently gathered for afternoon tea to celebrate another successful academic year of career mentoring for its mentees across six participating local schools. The mentees were commended for their dedication to developing their skillsets and working with their mentors to further their educational and career aspirations. Now in its seventh year of operation, the flagship career mentoring offering operated by 100 Women in Finance continues to evolve and develop its mentoring ethos.
Co-Chair of GirlForce 100 and CEO of Rampd.Consulting Kelly Sage said “It is wonderful to see the positive effect that GirlForce 100 has had on the lives of our mentees. It is also rewarding to see our original mentee groups having earned scholarships, internships and joined the workforce. We are proud of all of our mentees and can’t wait until they join us as mentors in the future.”
Event attendees also enjoyed an engaging discussion on Social Media and Beauty Standards, led by mentee Asia Bush, UCCI student and Maples Group Human Resources Intern, Miss Teen Cayman Asaiah Thomas and former Miss World Cayman Islands Jaci Patrick.
The event was also attended by the Hon. Katherine Ebanks-Wilks, MP, on behalf of the Cayman Islands Ministry of Education, who said “I am so proud to see so many young women in our community setting and achieving their career goals. I look forward to actively working with 100 Women in Finance and GirlForce 100 to ensure we continue to offer this support and guidance to our young people.”
As part of 100 Women in Finance’s Investing in the Next Generation Initiatives, GirlForce 100 pairs local 100 Women in Finace members with girls ages 13-25, who have indicated an interest in a career in finance and have demonstrated notable potential meriting their placement. Through mentorship, GirlForce 100 guides mentees in the development and progression of their career paths leading them to success.
