MHA Cayman has been undertaking significant transformations in 2022 during a sustained period of strong growth for the audit firm.
After absorbing the staff and book of business of Moore Cayman and ceasing trading under that name recently, the local audit firm MHA Cayman, has become a leading alternative to the big four audit firms in the Cayman Islands, with a focus on clients consisting mainly of Cayman mutual funds, private funds, including digital assets funds, as well as similar funds in the BVI and Delaware.

MHA Cayman operates as a subsidiary of MHA MacIntyre Hudson, which is the UK arm of the Baker Tilly International network, one of the top ten international accounting networks in the world with over $4 billion global revenue and a presence in approximately 150 countries around the world.
MHA Cayman is led locally by David Walker (Managing Partner) and Niall McAuliffe (Partner), having started out as Kinetic Partners Cayman in 2005. David and Niall are also Partners of the London-based MHA MacIntyre Hudson partnership of 80 to 90 partners in total.
David, who has an MSc in Digital Assets, specialises in auditing digital asset funds and businesses, and has a high-profile portfolio. The firm has developed some leading experience by working with pioneers in digital asset management industry since 2017, and a team of 40 to 50 dedicated staff that serve our Cayman office client base.

The pace of innovation in the digital asset industry is quite incredible and with increasing global regulatory requirements we have been well-positioned to serve as the auditor of some of the leading digital asset funds and virtual asset service providers, David added.
Niall McAuliffe, MHA Cayman Audit Partner who joined the firm in May 2022, specialises on the non-cryptocurrency side of the firm, which mainly consists of Cayman mutual funds and private funds. Niall brings with him 15 years of audit and financial services experience, including 10 years with a Big Four audit firm, and over 10 years of Cayman Islands financial services experience. Prior to joining MHA Cayman, Niall was the Deputy Head of the Onsite Inspection Unit at the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).

Niall said, I’m very pleased to be joining MHA Cayman at this exciting time for our firm. We have a fantastic team both in Cayman and in London. I’m looking forward to working together with David and building the long-term success of our firm.

David and Niall lead MHA Cayman, with support from Directors Clever and James and a supporting team of 40 auditors, the majority of which are based at the MHA MacIntyre Hudson head office in London.
David and Niall are certain they have the best team in place, with fresh experience, leadership and support from Niall McAuliffe and Directors Clever Mawarire and James Snape, as well as experienced and skilful team members both in Cayman and in London with a wonderful longevity of staff that brings stability and fosters long-term client relationships.
