CIIPA Set to Host Annual Summit

via PRESS RELEASE

Leading accountancy, blockchain and cyber security experts are set to participate in the fifth-annual Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants summit 9 Dec. at the Kimpton Seafire Resort.

Titled “Momentum”, the 2021 version is a unique, forward-looking conference for private and public sectors. Session topics include the future of financial services in the Cayman Islands, the role of capital markets in the transition to a low-carbon world and reporting on public sector climate impacts.
Among this year’s speakers is Financial Services Minister Andre Ebanks and Chief Executive Officer of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy Rob Whiteman, who leads the only professional accountancy body in the world exclusively dedicated to advancing public finance and support better public services.

“Our theme speaks to where we are as a nation right now,” CIIPA Chief Executive Officer Sheree Ebanks. “Globally we have all been impacted by COVID, but the Cayman Islands are moving forward with a focus on innovation and opportunity. I’m sure all of the delegates will walk away with valuable insights into what’s next for Cayman and in particular financial services.”

Attendees will also hear from Pamela Greene, the Chief Information Security Officer of the Cayman Islands, while Petri Basson of Hash Consulting and PwC’s Isabel Gumeyi discuss the latest trends in crypto and digital currencies. The day will end with a mental health focus as certified professional coach, Cindy Blekaitis, provides practical tips on Managing the Impact of Transition and Change.

The cost to attend in person is $200 for CIIPA members and $250 for non-members, while the cost to attend online is $200. Register online at ciipa.ky.
Event space will be set up to allow for social distancing, including lunch, coffee and snack breaks. CIIPA, a registered non-for-profit organization, is still offering a range of sponsorship opportunities for Momentum.
