Maples Lawyers Named “Best in Class” in 2022 Legal 500 Caribbean Guide

via PRESS RELEASE

Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that 68 lawyers across its British Virgin Islands (“BVI”) and Cayman Islands practices have been recognised in The Legal 500 2022 Caribbean Guide. The latest rankings brings the total number of international lawyers who received individual recommendations in The Legal 500 2022 Guides to 155. Earlier this year, 87 lawyers from the firm’s Dublin, Luxembourg, London, Jersey and Dubai offices were recommended in The Legal 500’s 2022 EMEA and UK Guides respectively.

In the Caribbean Guide, 15 Partners received the ‘Leading Individual’ distinction with Dispute Resolution & Insolvency Partner James Eldridge joining the elite category this year.  A further 12 Partners were recognised in the ‘Next Generation Partner’ category, with Finance Partner Amanda Lazier and Funds & Investment Management Partners Lee Davis and Stephen Watler entering the category this year. Matthew Freeman who joined the BVI Dispute Resolution & Insolvency team earlier this year[1] was also recognised in the ‘Next Generation Partner’ category. In addition, six Associates were acknowledged for their outstanding expertise in the ‘Rising Star’ category.

Impressively, the firm received seven Tier 1 rankings across both jurisdictions with clients describing the firm as “truly best in class” while being “extremely responsive and proactive”, with “real strength in depth”.

Commenting on the recognition, Global Managing Partner, Jonathan Green said, “We are delighted to once again receive this recognition in this year’s Legal 500 Caribbean Guide and indeed across all of The Legal 500 2022 Guides. Notwithstanding the challenges of the past two years, it is a testament to the resilience and commitment of our lawyers who always strive to go above and beyond to provide consistently high levels of service to our clients. We are extremely grateful to our clients and we would also like to thank our colleagues in the legal profession for taking the time to provide this feedback.”
