When asked why she decided to get into law, Allison commented: “Throughout my career I have had exposure to an array of different issues affecting my clients which grew my interest in legal problem solving and researching solutions that would meet their needs.” She also added: “I am looking forward to my articles of clerkship with Harneys and thereafter deciding on a specialty.”

The articled clerk programme allows those training to undertake seats within the Litigation & Insolvency, Banking & Corporate, Investment Funds and Private Wealth practice groups at Harneys. Along with rigorous legal training and support, the firm’s articled clerks also receive mentorship and training in soft skills such as networking, and the commercial issues that are relevant to practising in Cayman and in the broader offshore context. Upon successful completion of Articles, the articled clerks are admitted by the court as attorneys.

Partner and Director of Harneys’ Articled Clerk Training Programme Katie Pearson commented “We are proud to run a programme that develops and harnesses local talent in the Cayman Islands. We look forward to mentoring and working with Allison.”

Harneys is committed to providing opportunities to Caymanians beginning their careers in law; those interested in internship, legal scholarship or articles of clerkship opportunities are asked to visit harneys.com/careers/students-and-graduates/cayman-islands or contact CAYHR@harneys.com
