Cayman Finance formed part of a Cayman Islands delegation at the World Captive Forum from 5 to 7 Feb in Orlando, FL. The event attracted more than 500 delegates, including about 160 current or prospective captive owners.
Cayman’s financial services industry association attended the conference for the first time in support of the Insurance Managers Association of Cayman (IMAC) and the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA).
Kara Ebanks, the head of CIMA’s Insurance Supervision Division, participated in a regulatory panel alongside regulators from Bermuda and the Bahamas. Panellists provided an update on regulations impacting captive insurance in the respective jurisdictions and emerging compliance trends.
Brittany MacVicar, Associate Director for Insurance at Cayman Finance, said CIMA’s participation in the offshore regulatory panel showed Cayman’s strong regulatory framework and ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with evolving international standards.
The Business Insurance World Captive Forum was the first in a series of insurance conferences the association will attend this year to promote the Cayman Islands as a leading domicile for captive insurance.

“Our collaboration with IMAC and CIMA at this event showcased the strength of our jurisdiction, our world-class products and the unparalleled benefits of doing business in Cayman,” MacVicar said. “We look forward to working together with our member companies this year to champion key initiatives internationally that highlight the innovation, expertise and regulatory excellence that set Cayman apart in the global market.”
