Cayman Finance connects with industry leaders at Miami Hedge Fund Week

Cayman Finance Associate Director for Funds and Capital Markets, Samantha Widmer, was among a distinguished group of financial professionals at the annual Miami Hedge Fund Week (MHFW) in Miami Beach, Florida from January 27-30, 2025. Representing the Cayman Islands’ financial services industry association, Widmer, alongside member firms, had the opportunity to engage with influential players across the funds sector.

With major conferences like iConnections and Uncorrelated Alts, along with a series of private industry-led events, MHFW drew more than 7,000 professionals from around the world. The week provided the ideal platform for Cayman Finance to demonstrate the Cayman Islands’ unwavering position as a leading jurisdiction for fund registrations. As the funds industry continues to evolve, the event offered a wealth of insights on emerging asset classes and investment strategies, which are key to the future of hedge funds and alternative assets.

For Cayman Finance, this event was particularly significant given the large number of attendees with ties to the Cayman Islands, from investment managers to legal professionals, accountants, fund administrators, and other key industry stakeholders. The feedback received throughout the week was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their continued satisfaction with the Cayman Islands’ commitment to innovation, flexibility, and ongoing development as the jurisdiction of choice for fund registrations.

“It’s always a privilege to represent the Cayman Islands and witness firsthand the strong relationships we’ve built within the global funds community,” Widmer said. “Attending more than 10 private events during Miami Hedge Fund Week gave me the chance to engage with professionals face-to-face and hear about their continued success in using Cayman for their fund registrations. The feedback was incredibly encouraging, and it’s clear that the Cayman Islands remains the preferred destination for global investors seeking a stable, efficient, and forward-thinking financial hub.”

Throughout the week, attendees enjoyed numerous networking opportunities, exchanged valuable industry insights, and discussed the latest trends that are shaping the future of alternative investments. For Cayman Finance, Miami Hedge Fund Week was not only a chance to strengthen international connections but also to reinforce the Cayman Islands’ reputation as the undisputed leader in investment funds.

MHFW is one of the most important events on the alternative investment community’s calendar, and Cayman Finance looks forward to further supporting the Cayman Islands’ growth and continued success as a premier financial center.
