BDO in the Cayman Islands has appointed two audit professionals to its growing insurance practice.
Gordon Procter joins as audit director and Rahul Garg as audit manager, strengthening the firm’s position as a leader in the insurance and reinsurance sectors.
The strategic hires align with the firm’s growth plans unveiled at the start of last year, which focus on expanding capabilities and deepening expertise in key markets.
Procter will play a pivotal role in driving growth within the firm’s insurance practice, BDO said in a press release.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have Gordon joining us to help take our insurance practice to new heights,” said Paul Arbo, partner and Head of Insurance at BDO Cayman Islands. “Gordon has earned himself an excellent reputation in the insurance and reinsurance industry here in Cayman over the years, and I personally look forward to working with Gordon in taking our practice forward.”
Garg, who joined the team as audit manager on 7 January, brings extensive experience across the Cayman and Bermuda markets. His diverse expertise will be instrumental in supporting the firm’s growth initiatives, particularly in the expanding Bermuda operations, the firm said.
“Rahul is a great addition to our insurance team here in Cayman and will help us to grow our fledgling practice in Bermuda,” Arbo said. “With a wide array of experience in both markets, we are very excited to have Rahul join us to be part of our growing team.”
These key appointments reflect BDO’s commitment to its strategic growth plans, which aim to strengthen its insurance and reinsurance capabilities across the Caribbean. Under Managing Partner James George’s leadership, BDO has focused on attracting top talent, enhancing client service, and expanding its footprint in the region.
