CIIPA celebrates accounting excellence during 16th-annual awards gala

Suzanne Scott received the Rising Star Award.

Twenty Caymanians and permanent residents earned accolades for reaching academic milestones in their accounting careers on 28 Sept at the 16th-annual CIIPA Awards Gala at the Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa.

Suzanne Scott (Rising Star Award) and Candice Czeremuszkin (Outstanding Member Award) received special recognition in addition to the 20 honourees, who were recognised for having recently earned their bachelor’s degree, master’s degree and/or professional qualification. Scott was lauded for her exceptional work in the profession while CIIPA recognised Czeremuszkin for her significant contributions to the accounting community and her leadership within the organisation.

The evening’s programme included a reflection on the organization’s accomplishments over the past year, delivered by CIIPA Chief Executive Officer Sheree Ebanks, who highlighted CIIPA’s ongoing initiatives to advance the accounting profession in the Cayman Islands. CIIPA President Rosa Nolan also delivered an inspiring message to the honourees.

“Accounting is a profession full of endless possibilities,” Nolan said. “It is a career that offers the world. Whether you stay here in the Cayman Islands or travel to other parts of the globe, the skills you’ve acquired will always serve you well. It’s also a profession that opens doors — doors to different industries, different countries, and even different perspectives. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about understanding the story behind the numbers.”

Nearly 350 people attended the event.
