The Cayman Islands’ premier financial services conference is set to return for its fourth year on 10 October 2024 at The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman. This forum will convene local and international industry-leading experts for thought-provoking discussions aimed at shaping the future of the financial services sector. Government officials will also be in attendance, including Deputy Premier and Minister for Financial Services André Ebanks, who will deliver a keynote address.
“We’re thrilled to be back and I think ‘impactful’ is the word to describe the agenda this year,” said Paul Byles, director of FTS and founder of the conference. “The financial services sector is constantly evolving, presenting both opportunities and challenges for international financial centres, including Cayman. AI is playing a significant role in many aspects of our lives and in financial services there is no exception. Other key topics such as diversity have become central to understanding the performance of businesses and people management,” he added.
This year, Spectrum introduces exciting new topics to the agenda including ‘Revolutionizing Finance: The Transformative Impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Financial Services’ with international speaker, Seyed Sajjadi, founder & CEO nFlux AI and former NASA engineer. As the industry stands on the brink of a technological revolution, AI has emerged as a pivotal force, from risk management and compliance to customer experience and operational efficiency. Followed by a panel discussion on AI’s integration into the Cayman Islands’ financial industry moderated by Chris Wall, partner at Ogier.
‘Innovations in Wealth Management and Asset Protection’ is further panel discussion, where innovative solutions and strategies around these key pillars, considering regulatory implications and both traditional and emerging approaches, will be explored.
A compelling presentation on ‘Global Perspectives: Gender, Inclusiveness, and the Business Imperative’ by Hayley Barnard, CEO of Mix Diversity Developers will delve into the critical importance of gender inclusiveness within the global financial services sector. This is followed by a panel discussion on ‘Empowering Change: Advancing Inclusiveness in the Financial Services Sector’, moderated by Tammi Sulliman, managing director, TS Consulting Ltd. Integrating diversity and inclusiveness is not just a moral imperative but a strategic advantage that drives innovation and financial performance across the world.
There will be a full spectrum of perspectives on regulatory convergence, featuring senior members from the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA), the Cayman Islands Institute of Professional Accountants (CIIPA) and the Department of International Tax Cooperation (DITC). Together, they will discuss recent and upcoming regulatory developments impacting our financial, legal, and accounting sectors in this comprehensive session.
Produced and hosted by FTS, Spectrum is a ‘must attend’ event for senior managers, partners and financial services business leaders from the public and private sector. As the only financial services event in Cayman centred on cross-sector future industry growth, the conference offers excellent networking and sponsorship opportunities, while also promoting the advantages of IFCs and the Cayman Islands’ financial services sector.
