Jennifer Steinberg, Member Engagement Associate at Cayman Finance, spoke to Jon Kiss, co- Owner/Broker Engel & Völkers Cayman Islands.
Cayman Finance: Why did you choose to partner with Engel & Völkers?
Jon Kiss: Heidi and I ran capital Realty, originally founded by John and Suladda May. Around 2015-2016 we searched for a real estate brand that would fit with our values and vision, and help us take our business to the next level while supporting the reputation we had built up. We looked at a number of franchise partners, but none compared to what Engel & Völkers was offering, so we signed in 2016.
Cayman Finance: How would you describe the culture at Engel & Völkers?
Jon Kiss: The brokerage owners and their employees are – and this is the culture – professional, helpful, ethical and, probably most importantly, connected. Our roots are in Europe, Germany specifically, and we’ve been global from the beginnings. This enables us to connect to a worldwide network, from Milan to Beverly Hills to Lisbon, as well as stay closely connected to our valued clients here. Also, with German roots, Engel & Völkers values efficiency; our brokerage uses remarkable, time-tested tools and systems to help us service our clients along their real estate journeys.
Cayman Finance: Thinking about culture brings to mind the concept of core values, does Engel & Völkers manifest any in particular?
Jon Kiss: Yes, definitely. As a global network of dedicated brokerages, we all commit to Engel & Völkers core values which, at the top level, are Passion, Competence and Exclusivity. These values are the foundation of our culture; we live them 24×7.
