Cayman Finance to start year with sustainable finance event

Cayman Finance will host its latest member event, ‘Towards Net Zero: How Cayman Can Lead the World in Sustainable Finance’, at 5 p.m. on Thursday 25 Jan. 2024 at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa.

It will feature a presentation by Heather Buchanan, CEO and co-founder of Bankers for Net Zero, on the inception of the organisation, sustainable finance, and the potential impacts on the future of the Cayman Islands.

Bankers for Net Zero is a pioneering initiative launched in October 2019, uniting banks, businesses, policymakers, and regulators in the UK to drive the transition to a net-zero economy. By fostering collaboration and implementing interventions, B4NZ aims to accelerate the UK’s journey towards sustainability.

Buchanan’s insights will shed light on how the Cayman Islands can leverage similar approaches to propel its sustainable finance agenda.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion by leaders in the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) space in Cayman alongside Buchanan. The panel will feature:

  • Steve McIntosh, CEO, Cayman Finance, moderator
  • Heather Buchanan, CEO and Co-founder, Bankers for Net Zero
  • Arnaud van Dijk, Partner, ESG, KPMG
  • Winston Connolly, Partner, Chancery ESG Ltd
  • Tina Meigh, Partner, Maples Group
