Collas Crill has expanded its property practice in Cayman with the appointment of Alistair Wade as senior associate.
With more than 10 years’ working in the real estate sector, Alistair has experience in providing both commercial and residential advice across a wide range of matters including acquisitions and disposals, insolvency, development funding and lettings. He is experienced in acting for developers, administrators, investors, lenders, landlords and tenants.
Originally based in the UK, Alistair worked at DWF and then Shoosmiths acting for a wide range of clients managing transactions between £200k to £20m+, including a large number of Yorkshire-based private rental sector schemes.
Before training to become a solicitor, Alistair previously ran his own business providing architectural visualisations for construction companies, while teaching 3D animation at Lincoln University.
Alistair obtained his GDL and LPC from BPP Law School, Leeds, in 2010, before qualifying as a solicitor in June 2016 after a number of years working as a paralegal.
He was admitted as a Cayman attorney-at-law by the Honourable Justice Richards earlier this month.
Alistair’s appointment brings the Cayman property team to four lawyers and property specialists, with further growth to follow later this year.
On his appointment Alistair said: ‘I am looking forward to working with Collas Crill and helping develop the property team’s expansion here in the Cayman Islands. The real estate market on island is experiencing strong growth across all sectors and Collas Crill is the perfect partner to support clients with their investments here.’
Partner and head of the property team in Cayman, Gina Berry, said: ‘Alistair brings a wealth of experience which complements our exceptionally busy property practice. We remain committed to ensuring the very best legal team to service our growing client base and Alistair’s addition forms part of our expansion. We are thrilled to welcome him.’
