Maples and Calder, the Maples Group’s law firm, is pleased to announce that Ciara Hansen has successfully completed her articles of clerkship programme and joins the firm’s Dispute Resolution & Insolvency practice as an Associate.
Ciara, the second articled clerk to complete her training with the firm so far this year, was admitted as an attorney-at-law by The Honourable Justice Ramsay-Hale and her admission was moved by litigation partner Luke Stockdale.
Ms Hansen began her career with the firm as a legal intern completing summer internships in both the firm’s Cayman Islands and London offices. As a recipient of the firm’s legal scholarship programme, she attended the University of Essex where she obtained a Bachelors in Law and subsequently completed her Legal Practice Course at BPP University, London Holborn. Ms Hansen is a member of the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association, International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation, 100 Women in Finance and the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association. Outside of her day-to-day role with the firm, Ms Hansen is a member of the Cayman’s Women’s National Rugby 7’s team and is a regular volunteer with the HMP Northward Prison Literacy Programme.
Following her admission, Ms Hansen said, “The Maples Group’s keen interest in my development and legal training has been instrumental throughout my law journey. I am delighted to be joining the firm as an Associate and look forward to this new chapter in my career.”
